Two empty nesters were thinking about how much they used to entertain in their last house and concluded it had everything to do with their current cramped kitchen. They wanted to open it up to the adjacent family room and fix a myriad of other issues, like strange ceiling heights, textured ceilings and a lack of storage space, as well as creating a guest suite/ home office in a former enclosed porch.​Their 2 cats were ZEN during construction, and the contractors worked quickly. It's often difficult to live through a renovation, especially with no kitchen, but construction occurred during the summer months when they could eat outside so they decided against creating a temporary kitchen.   The new kitchen is warm and bright and is connected to the adjacent dining area and den with gorgeous views to the park beyond and the guest room/office and bath are off the main path.
