The existing kitchen had never been renovated, and had the back door entering through the work triangle. The goal, as always, was to create a great working kitchen with a work triangle outside of the traffic flow, with lots of room for family gatherings at the island. There were limits on lot coverage and parking requirements which stymied a larger deck but with some inventive structural work, the deck is free floating and connects the kitchen and dining areas to the yard below.
